The
Donostia-San Sebastián International Film Festival will
be 50 in two years time. As an introduction to this event,
we have put together a photograph exhibition on the event
since its creation.
With
the title of 1000 Irudi - 1000 Imágenes (A 1000 Pictures),
this exhibition will take us on a cinematographic, political
and sentimental tour of much of this country’s recent history.
1000 Irudi - 1000 Imágenes (A 1000 Pictures) will open on
14th September at the Kursaal Centre’s new Kubo Kutxaespacio
del Arte, until 30th October.
The
exhibition is intended for the enjoyment of both film and
non-film lovers, who can appreciate the curiosities of the
Festival’s background, discover surprising aspects and relive
personal moments related to its past.
The
exhibition’s visual concept is the result of an idea by
Juan Ramón Martín, scenographer and advertising director,
and developed by Ovideo TV with the intention of creating
an entertaining and participative event at which the member
of the public is not simply an onlooker, but an active part
of the exhibition.
Ovideo
TV is a Catalonian company established 15 years ago. Since
then it has been dedicated to advertising, a field in which
it has won several international awards. It has also made
TV programmes and has been responsible for the production
of other kinds of events, outstanding among which are the
design and production of the Opening and Closing ceremonies
of the Barcelona Olympic Games in 1992.
The
exhibition 1000 Irudi - 1000 Imágenes (A 1000 Pictures),
which will certainly be one of the attractions at the next
Festival, is sponsored by Kutxa, EGEDA and Canal +.
