| III International Film School Meeting |
One of the San Sebastian International Film Festival’s
main features is its permanent attention to the different links
in the chain attracting spectators to the pictures: the introduction
of children to cinema on the giant Velodrome screen, motivating
youngsters to try all kinds of films by sitting on the Youth
Jury, encouraging new directors with the incentive of important
cash prizes...
But the Festival couldn’t forget the youngsters who have
a greater interest in film technique and language, the film
schools and their students.
For the third year running, students have the chance to present
a selection of their work at these schools at one of the most
important international festivals, plus the chance to comment
on them at lively sessions open to the Festival guests and public,
including big film names who attend these sessions and comment
on their works in the presence of their teachers, who can also
make the most of the occasion to talk about the pedagogical
principles of each centre.
In only two years, audiences at these Meetings, the majority
of whom are very young, have duplicated, while the number or
participating centres has multiplied by four.
The III International Film School Meeting will take place, with
the important backing of TV5 and numerous surprises, on 23 and
24 September 2004.
