FILMS IN PROGRESS 11.
(TOULOUSE - GUADALAJARA, 22 y 24 de marzo)

Films in Progress 11 will take place on Thursday 22nd and Friday 23rd March 2007 as part of the XIX Rencontres Cinémas d’Amérique Latine in Toulouse, and, for the first time on Wednesday 28th and Thursday 29th March at the Guadalajara International Film Festival (Mexico), which is joining the initiative to bring new perspectives to the selected projects.

This rendezvous, organised with the San Sebastian International Film Festival (Spain), is intended to facilitate the completion of feature films at the post-production stage, their subsequent presentation at festivals, and their release in commercial cinemas.

A programme of Latin-American films at the provisional stage, jointly selected by both festivals, will be screened exclusively for professionals -producers, distributors and exhibitors, sales companies, TV networks, technical industries, aid funds, institutions and festivals- capable of playing a decisive part in bringing these works to the public.

In addition to the direct intervention of the participating professionals, the event is rounded off with the Films in Progress Toulouse Award offering aid to post-production and promotion of the winning film by the entities: the International Confederation of Art Cinemas (CICAE) and the companies Mac Guff Ligne, Kodak, Médiavision and Titra Film.

The International Confederation of Art Cinemas (CICAE) will back the chosen film in the thousand AFCAE cinemas in France (and subsequently abroad) as part of its "Cinédiversidad" operation.

Mac Guff Ligne will provide the editing and image effects, credits and a trailer.

Titra Film will ensure the subtitling.

Kodak will provide the positive film necessary to make the first copy.

Médiavision will provide the winning film with an advertising campaign worth €20,000.

The programme of unreleased titles presented at Toulouse to a principally European audience will be screened in Guadalajara to an audience of professionals coming particularly from the USA and Latin America.

The 22nd Guadalajara International Film Festival will round off this proposal with a specific programme of unfinished films from Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean who will compete for its own Industry Award.
