REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN FOR FILMS IN PROGRESS 14

Five films to have been selected for or won awards at the Films in Progress and Cinema in Motion sections will participate in different sections of the 61st Cannes Festival. 

Films in Progress is a joint initiative between San Sebastian Festival and the Rencontres Cinémas d’Amérique Latine in Toulouse (France).

Cinema in Motion is an aid programme organised by San Sebastian Festival in collaboration with the Amiens (France) and Fribourg (Switzerland) festivals.

Cine en Construcción:

Acné, by Federico Veiroj (Uruguay). Will participate in the Cannes Directors’ Fortnight. Landed Spanish Television’s TVE Award at San Sebastian in 2007.  

A festa da menina morta, by Mattheus Nachtergaele (Brazil). Will participate in Un Certain Regard at Cannes. Selected for Films in Progress 12, San Sebastian 2007.

Tony Manero, by Pablo Larrain (Chile).Will participate in the Cannes Directors’ Fortnight. Won the Films in Progress 13 Award, Toulouse 2008.

In addition, La extranjera, by Fernando Díaz (Argentina), selected for Films in Progress 12 (San Sebastian 2007) will this year participate in the Pavillion des Cinémas du Sud initiative also to take place at the Cannes Festival.




Cinema in Motion:

Je veux voir, by Joana Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreige (France). Will participate in Un Certain Regard at Cannes. Selected for Cinema in Motion 3, San Sebastian (2007).

Milh Hadha Al-Bahr (Salt of this Sea), by Annemarie Jacir (Palestine-France-Spain). Will participate in Un Certain Regard at Cannes, received aid to post-production from the Centre cinématographique marocain (CCM) at Cinema in Motion 3, San Sebastian 2007; €15,000 in aid towards post-production from the MACTARI mixing auditorium (www.mactari.fr) in Paris and a 35 mm copy from Amiens Festival.
