Five Minutes of Heaven

En pleno período de violencia en Belfast, un joven protestante decide junto a unos amigos cumplir una misión de prueba para ingresar en la Ulster Volunteer Force, amedrentando a una familia católica para que abandone un barrio protestante. El plan sale mal y acaba con la muerte del joven primogénito católico. Años después, un programa de televisión intentará “reconciliar” al asesino con el hermano de la víctima para mostrar la evolución positiva de una nueva Irlanda.

Oliver Hirschbiegel
Hamburgo, 1957. A partir de 1986, dirige episodios para distintas series televisivas (Komissar Rex, Tatort). En 2001 filma su primera película, Das Experiment (El experimento), con la que obtiene diversos premios en festivales de todo el mundo. Otras películas suyas son: Mein letzter Film (2002), Der Untergang (El hundimiento, 2004), nominada al Oscar, y The Invasion (Invasión, 2007). Five Minutes of Heaven ha recibido los premios al Mejor Director y Mejor Guionista de la sección World Cinema del Festival de Sundance de este año.
