The Chinese actress Bai Ling is really looking forward to her latest role as a member of the Festival Official Jury. She confesses that she prefers to give prizes rather than receive them
as she’s much more comfortable and less nervous. “We’re all here to celebrate life and art. It’s not about who’s going to win; it’s an encouragement to others to give the best of themselves.”
She’s not only worked in cinema, television and theatre but has also written a magical realist novel about her teenage experiences in Tibet, and is also a big fan of social networking tools like Twitter and Facebook. Apart from all this she has an official web site where she shares her poems and photos with her fans.
Although most of her recent films have been made in America, having grown up in China and having lived for a long time in the West, she feels she could be an excellent bridge between
the two worlds.
She also revealed that she has currently got two film projects on the boil: a psychological thriller and a fast-paced action film.
