When she was little, Raquel couldn’t understand why everyone was always talking about love: on the radio at home, on TV, in Saturday afternoon films and, above all, in songs. She wondered what would happen if she never found anyone to love her. Now Raquel is going to live with Tomás. She’ll have to consider how far she’s prepared to go for love as she discovers the endearing and more complicated aspects of truly caring for someone.

Barcelona, 1971. She has directed three shorts, the latter of which, Cuando te encontré, was selected at numerous festivals. Lately, she has been working as a screenwriter for the Televisió de Catalunya and as a director of independent productions. Lo mejor de mí is her first feature film, winner of the Best Actress Award for Marian Alvarez and the Golden Boccalino (Critics’ Award) at Locarno 2007, and a competitor at the Seminci in Valladolid that same year.
