On release from prison, a young couple of musicians decide to put a group together. They set off round the city of Teheran in search of other underground musicians, trying to talk them into leaving Iran. With no chance of success in their own country, they dream of leaving clandestinity behind and playing in Europe. But will they manage with neither money nor passport?

Baneh (Iranian Kurdistan), 1969. Studied Film in Teheran. His first feature, A Time for Drunken Horses (2000), won the Golden Camera and International Critics’ Award at Cannes. Songs of My Motherland (2002) was also presented at Cannes and garnered an award in Chicago. Turtles Can Fly (2004) and Half Moon (2006) won the Golden Shell for Best Film at San Sebastian Festival, the second ex-aequo with Martial Fougeron’s Mon fils à moi. He was a member of the Official Jury at San Sebastian in 2007. No One Knows About Persian Cats landed the Special Jury Prize at Un Certain Regard in Cannes 2009. Director:
