The story of 25-year-old Sita. It is a journey not only into the dark and loaded past of her own family during World War 2, but also into the abyss of European society today. The journey leads Sita from Berlin to Vienna, to Warsaw and to Romania. A film about losing your homeland, a film about self-discovery and identity, about responsibility and hope.
Vienna, 1970. Studied at the Vienna Film Academy and has worked as an actress, screenwriter and producer. After having made several fiction shorts and medium-length documentaries, in 1999 she directed her first feature film, Nordrand / Northern Skirts, a contender at the Venice Film Festival that same year. This was followed by Böse Zellen / Free Radicals (2003) and Fallen / Falling (2006), with which she once again competed in Venice.
