"Belle Epoque", in Paris. After a dispute with his crooked partner, Matthew Burk, professor Henry Jarrod is trapped in a fire that destroys his wax museum. He escapes the fire apparently uninjured, and immediately beggins to create new wax figures. When a series of strange murders take place in the city, however, detective Tom brenan begins to suspect that something sinister is afoot.
