Donostia Award 2017 / "The competitive side of awards makes me uncomfortable; I don’t like the dynamics of highlighting someone in comparison to someone else, always thinking about which film or performance has been better. However, I don’t consider the Donostia to be an award but an acknowledgement, and as it is such a well-loved Festival, it`s really nice that they are presenting me with it. I’d like to share this award with all South America".

Donostia Award 2017 / "I’m tremendously moved to be picking up this award when I look at the long list of names that have received it. I don’t know if this is the first time that it has been given to a non mainstream filmmaker. I accept it humbly and gladly, and from now on I’ll share a bond with you".

Donostia Award 2017 / It is a great honour for me and I am really excited to receive the Donostia Award at a Festival that I respect so much. I love the city and the close relationship between the public and the artists and I especially appreciate the opportunity it gives to low-budget films to be really visible".
