In 1952, two young Argentineans, Ernesto Guevara and Alberto Granado, set off on a road trip to discover the real South America. Ernesto is a 23-year-old Medicine student, specializing in Leprology. Alberto, 29, is a biochemist. The movie follows the pair on their discovery of the wealthy and complex human and social topography of the Latin-American continent. Based on the diaries written by Alberto Granado and the man later to become known as ?Che?, Diarios de motocicleta is a journey of self-discovery outlining the origins of a revolutionary heart.
