The Hoax is based on the story of Clifford Irving, a desperate man who convinces one of the biggest publishing houses in the world that he is the only person authorised to write Howard Hughes? official biography. What started out as the only escape route for a writer with barely 10 cents left in his pocket, becomes a scandal with repercussions even affecting the White House. Greed and the thirst for triumph converted Clifford?s adventure into the tale of a man who briefly felt how the world fell at his feet, although he finally paid a very high price for the experience.Director
