As of June 1, the two entities will offer a 50% discount on registration for the congress when formalised through their respective websites. In addition, a draw will be made among all those registered for 10 vouchers, each with 10 tickets, for films at the 62nd edition of the San Sebastian Festival
Registrations for the congress Basque Cinema: three generations of filmmakers organised by the Filmoteca Vasca in the frame of the Summer Courses at the University of the Basque Country will benefit from a discount of 50% when formalised from the San Sebastian Festival (www.sansebastianfestival.com) and San Sebastian 2016 (www.donostiasansebastian2016.eu) websites from 1 June. The San Sebastian Festival will also make a draw for 10 vouchers, each with 10 tickets, from among all those registered to participate in the congress, i.e. among all those registered through Filmoteca Vasca, University of the Basque Country, San Sebastian Festival and San Sebastian 2016.
Thus, Zinemaldia and the Office of the Capital of Culture adhere to the event organised by Filmoteca Vasca as part of the University of the Basque Country Summer Courses with the participation of three generations of working Basque filmmakers. Registration for the congress Basque Cinema: three generations of filmmakers costs EUR92 (EUR46 when registered via the said websites).
This congress, to take place on 2, 3 and 4 July at the Miramar Palace in San Sebastian, will include 19 talks and five round tables on a sort of multidisciplinary state of the question regarding research into Basque film until our days.
The list of working filmmakers who will participate in the Congress includes several prominent names: Montxo Armendáriz, Ana Díez, Víctor Erice, Pedro Olea and Imanol Uribe; Juanma Bajo Ulloa, Daniel Calparsoro, Julio Medem, Helena Taberna and Enrique Urbizu; Koldo Almandoz, Asier Altuna, Borja Cobeaga, Jose Mari Goenaga, Isabel Herguera and Pablo Malo. All nineteen papers will be brought out in a publication including a transcription of the five round tables: three with the different generations of directors, one from the point of view of the film industry, and a fifth on film criticism.
