Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Argentine director Albertina Carri brought the master classes in the Nest Film Students initiative to a close yesterday. First of all the students attending the event had the chance to watch Carri’s latest film, Las hijas del fuego, which won the award for best Argentine film at the latest BAFICI. The film tells the story of three women who form a group devoted to accompanying other women on the search for their own erotica and set out on a transformative polyamorous journey.
Carri then recalled her period as a film student in Buenos Aires and also provided an overview of her film career. She explained that although all her films are different they all have one point in common: the increasing naturalisation of violence.
