For the second year running, the awards ceremony for the "Euskaraz bizi nahi dut" short film competition will take place in the frame of the San Sebastian Festival on Monday, September 22. The event will kick off at 18:00 in the afternoon at San Sebastián's Kutxa Andia hall with screening of the best short films entered in the competition, following which the names of the winners will be announced.
Now that the deadline for entering short films in the competition has ended, all short films to have met the competition terms are with the jury. This year, the jury will be made up of the San Sebastian Festival management committee member, Maialen Beloki, the film director Jorge Gil Munarriz and the Secretary General of Kontseilua, Paul Bilbao. A jury which, as mentioned above, is already working to select the best short films.
As was the case last year, the awards ceremony will include a tribute to an entity or person to have made a mark thanks to their work in support of normalising the Basque language in the film world. This year, the honour will go to Lekeitioko Euskal Zine Bilera, which has been working in the field for more than 30 years.
In addition to screening the best shorts, presenting the awards and the tribute, there will be another surprise on September 22. Admission to the gala will be free. However, seating is limited and all those wishing to attend should call 943591200 or write to info@euskarazbizinahidut.org before September 22.
