Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Nest, San Sebastian Festival’s competitive section for short films by film school students worldwide, is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2021. The 69th Festival will organise a special programme to celebrate the place where it all started: a publication, a podcast, a commemorative video and masterclasses running throughout the event, in addition to an extended programme in October and November in the shape of the Zinemaldia + Plus programme. In its 20th year Nest has selected fourteen films from the 310 submitted by 157 schools from 42 countries, from Argentina, Brazil, China, Croatia, Denmark, Slovakia, Spain, United States, France, the UK, Rumania and Switzerland. In addition, for the third year running, Nest will include a short presented by the Elías Querejeta Film School (EQZE), entitled Podul de Piatrâ / Pont de Pedra directed by Artur-Pol Camprubí.
