Films in Progress, the dual annual event at the San Sebastián and Cinélatino Toulouse Festivals, has opened the registration period for submitting projects at Films in Progress 33.

This initiative aims to help to finish off Latin American feature films that are having problems at the post-production stage.  Six films selected by the committees at both festivals will be screened for an audience of professionals so that they may help to get them finished, distributed and screened at festivals.

Films in Progress has helped to finish off and market some of the most outstanding Latin American feature films and boosted the profile of new talents like Jayro Bustamente, Ciro Guerra, Emiliano Torres, Pepa San Martín, Christopher Murray, Juan Sebastián Mesa, Lorenzo Vigas, Mariana Rondón, Alejandro Fernández Almendras, Sebastián Lelio, Juan Andrés Arango and Amat Escalante, among others.

In 2017, the films in Films in Progress have been selected at prestigious international festivals such as: Los Perros by Marcela Said (Critics’ Week, Cannes Festival - Horizontes Award at San Sebastián); La novia del desierto by Valeria Pivato and Cecilia Atán (Un Certain Regard, Cannes Festival – Horizontes Latinos at San Sebastián);  La Familia (Critics’ Week, Cannes Festival - Horizontes Latinos at San Sebastián); and Temporada de Caza by Natalia Garagiola (International Critics’ Week, Venice Festival - Horizontes Latinos at San Sebastián).

Films in Progress has become an event not to be missed by producers and professionals from the film industry in Europe and Latin America.
