Merian C. Cooper & Ernest B. Schoedsack
Book coordinated by Quim Casas and Ana Cristina Iriarte on one of the most unusual and exciting creative couples in the history of Hollywood, Merian C. Cooper (1893-1973) and Ernest B. Schoedsack (1893-1979). Recognised for generations as the minds behind the iconic King Kong (1933), Cooper and Schoedsack's contribution to fantasy movies doesn't stop at this masterpiece remodelling the myth of Beauty and the Beast, but created a hilarious and antediluvian universe of images inspired in Gustave Doré and innovated the animated stop motion technique. They also made equally attractive offerings in titles such as The Most Dangerous Game (1932), the fine film about man hunting man, produced by Cooper and made by Schoedsack and Irving Pichel, and Dr. Cyclops (1940), a telluric fantasy on beings of shrunken size made solo by Schoedsack.
