WHAT'S NEW

  • Ticket desk for accredited guests and press
    All invitations for screenings - at the K1 (afternoon and evening), K2, Antiguo Berri Cinemas, Principe Cinemas, Trueba Cinemas, San Telmo Museum and Tabakalera theatres 1 and 2 – must be collected from the ticket desk for accredited press at the Zinemaldi Plaza from the day before the screening at 8:30, until the same day of the screening at 15:00. Either that, or from the ticket desks at the corresponding cinemas 10 minutes prior to the start of the film and always subject to available seating. Invitations for the Opening Gala will be available on the same day, September 22, from 14:00 onwards.
  • Official App
    Available for iOS and Android. Can be downloaded free of charge from the App Store and Google Play. Once installed, enable it to receive notifications. Log in My Festival to receive specific messages for the accredited press: arrivals, schedule changes, last-minute news. You will also find news, film information, the programme, videos, image galleries and practical information on services in the city.
    The official App for the 65th edition of the Festival is sponsored by Movistar+.
  • EIEcine
    The International Film Students Meeting will have an extra day, running from Monday 25 to Friday 29. The event will include the screening of short films and masterclasses.
    For admission to the short film screenings, an invitation must be requested from the ticket desk for accredited press, in the same way as for the other Tabakalera screenings.
    To attend the masterclasses an invitation is required, which must be requested as early as possible from the Press Department, always subject to available places.
  • The Industry Club awards press conference
    For the first time, The Industry Club awards will be announced at a press conference.

 

SERVICES

  • Press boxes
    The Festival uses the lockers to distribute all of the promotional material provided by producers and other interesting information to accredited press members.
    Keys are available on showing your pass, but please don't forget to give them back at the end of the Festival.
  • Virtual press box
    Official web space containing promotional material provided by producers (pressbooks, pictures, audio and video clips) and gala abstracts.
    You can access it at "My Festival" section with your user name and password.
  • TV clip information
    Assistance in use of the virtual press box.
  • Interview coordination
    The Festival list of press agents and films and personalities handled by the Festival can be found on the official Festival site. The ones handled by the Festival can be requested from September 18. You can access it with your user name and password.
    English and French-speaking interpreters will be provided for interviews arranged by the Festival on request. 
  • Newsroom
    It is not allowed eating, drinking or using the phone in the Newsroom.

    Find up-to-date information on all Festival activities: news, information on the films, screenings schedule, videos, photo galleries and practical information about services in the city.
  • Official App
    Available for iOS and Android. Can be downloaded free from App Store and Google Play.
    Last-minute changes and news flashes will be communicated to accredited press by means of the App. To receive them, you must access "My Festival" loging with your username and password. Here you will, as always, find news, information on the films, the programme, videos, photo galleries and practical information about services in the city.
    The official 65 Festival App is powered by Movistar+.
  • Zinemaldia
    The San Sebastian Festival daily, available in the locker area, hotels and cinemas.
  • Notice Board
    Located in the Kursaal Centre locker area, here you will find full updated information on the daily programme, arrival of film crews, press conferences, photocalls, Encuentros TCM Zinemaldia, Horizontes Breakfasts and last-minute notifications.

 

GENERAL ACTIVITIES

  • Press screenings
    All feature films programmed in the Official Selection, New Directors, Pearls Donostia Awards Special Screenings and some of the films in Velodrome are exclusively screened for the press and accredited guests.
  • Press conferences
    Kursaal Centre. Rooms 2 and 3
    Programmed press conferences can be found in the "Press" section of our official website from September 16.
    These press conferences usually take place after the screenings of Official Selection films in the Kursaal 1 and are preceded by a photocall.
    Press conferences are also organised for other films and the retrospectives. These are announced through the usual information channels.
     A simultaneous interpretation service is offered. Headphones are available at the entrance to the Press Conference Room in exchange for your pass.

  • Horizontes breakfasts
    Press Club. Kursaal Centre, Room 1. Daily, at 11:00
    The Horizontes Breakfasts are attended by Horizontes Latinos filmmakers attending the Festival. These are announced daily in the usual manner.
  • Encuentros TCM Zinemaldia
    Victoria Eugenia Theatre Club. Daily, at 14:00.
    The Encuentros TCM Zinemaldia are attended by filmmakers participating in New Directors, Pearls and Zabaltegi-Tabakalera. These are announced daily in the usual channels.
  • Closing gala
    Rooms 2 and 3 are equipped for live coverage of the Closing Gala by accredited press. At the end of the Gala, the winners will make their way to this room to make statements.

 

SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS

  • Photocalls
    Following the morning screenings of films in the Official Selection, and prior to the press conference, a photocall will take place on the Kursaal Terraces. These will take place on the Kursaal Terraces, weather permitting. If not, photo journalists and cameramen should make their way to the Kursaal Entrances to be informed about their location.
    There will also be photocalls before all other press conferences. Information will be provided on these through the usual channels.
  • Press areas at venue entrances
    The Festival assigns spaces to photographers and cameramen / women at the entrance to the Kursaal 1, Victoria Eugenia Theatre, Tabakarera and Maria Cristina Hotel.
  • Access to galas
    Access to the Kursaal 1 for the Opening, Closing Galas and to the Donostia Award ones is restricted to photographers, who must respect the following instructions:
    • Remain seated, without standing up, until the end of the gala
    • Do not use flashes during the ceremony
    • Leave the hall at the end of the ceremony
    • It is forbidden to film images in any format for delayed transmission
    • Due to television broadcasting requirements, the organisation reserves the right to select the photographers who are allowed access.
    • Photo journalists and television cameras can access the Presentations at the Victoria Eugenia Theatre, the Velodrome and other cinemas; however, they must follow the instructions issued by the organisation at all times.

The San Sebastián Tourist Card can be purchased at the Kursaal Centre's InfoShop.

BUHO

In addition, on Friday 22 and 29 September, and on Saturday 23 and 30 September, night buses (known as the "BUHO") will run to the different neighbourhoods as follows.
