In 1928 Antonio Gramsci enters the prison of Turin. In his long years in prison, his broken health suffers the rigors of confinement and the political vicissitudes of Italy, which can not live as his desire would. The only link that links him to the outside is his sister-in-law Tania, who visits him sporadically without daring to reveal the precarious state of mind of his wife Giulia. The party judges hard what it considers as errors and deviations of Gramsci, who takes refuge in his writings and experiences while waiting for the end
