Cinema made by women

A young woman appears in a metallurgical complex of an industrial town. The head of the workshop, Janos, invites her out and she rejects it. He insists and achieves his purposes. One day, Janos discovers that Julia has a son. He wants to break with her, but ends up accepting the facts. Julia is pregnant by Janos and Janos, because of his conservatism, does not marry her. Julia flees.

Born in Hungary in 1931, she lives in the Soviet Union since she was four years old, a country where her father, a notable sculptor, lives. She studied at the Higher School of Cinematography in Moscow and from 1956 to 1959 she lives in Romania, moving last year to Hungary, where she is definitely established. She made several short films and some documentaries, and in 1968 she shot his first feature film, Eltávozott nap. Its international recognition comes fundamentally from its film Orökbefogadás (Adoption), 1975, which obtains the Grand Prize of the Berlin Festival, and which in the current edition of the San Sebastian Festival is programmed within the cycle Film Made by Women.
