BIOGRAPHY

AGNÈS VARDA

Agnès Varda (Brussels, 1928) is a director and screenwriter with a realistic and social character and presenting a distinctive experimental style. Varda studied Art History at the École du Louvre before getting a job as an official photographer for the National Popular Theater in Paris, but was more interested in cinema. In 1954 he debuted with La Pointe Courte, forerunner of the French Nouvelle Vague. His films include films such as Cléo de 5 à 7 (1962) and Daguerréotypes (1976).
