To the marriage Sochor violently shakes the death of his only son, Stepan, in an accident. His companion, Jana, is transferred to a hospital. For all, the existence of the girl is a mystery. Later Stepan's mother takes care of her. Everyone realizes that Stepan would never have been able to make friends with a girl of Jana's level. But Mrs. Sochor is attracted to the girl. The photograph in which Stepan looks at Jana with a happy smile is enough.
