Luis and Aurora are a modern-day married couple. They live in a small, cosy flat in Madrid. Their life is quiet and peaceful until one day Antonio, a new neighbour, moves into the flat opposite. Luis goes on a trip, and when he returns, he asks his wife for an explanation, saying that the neighbour is getting too involved in their lives. After an argument, they decide to separate, and Luis moves into another flat in the same building. Luis begins a new and difficult life as a bachelor, with his ex-wife as his neighbour.
