Henri is divorced and has a seven-year-old daughter whom he sees on weekends. Cecile, who lives in a van and has a cat, decides to break out of her loneliness and moves in with Luce. Henri and Cecile work as proofreaders at a morning newspaper, L'Espoir. The daily press technique is changing: the cold computer is replacing the warmth of lead. It is during this period of change that Henri and Cecile fall in love.
