During the Second World War, a group of refugees, brought together by chance, manage to cross the Swiss border. They are unaware that "racial criteria" are not sufficient to guarantee political refugee status. To avoid problems with the police, they decide to pretend to be relatives in order to obtain certain favours. But despite everything, they continue to be victims of racist persecution. After a series of dramatic events, they are handed over to their persecutors at the border.
