Michal, the driver of an archaeological expedition, is a man withdrawn into himself. His psyche is marked by his former experiences in a concentration camp. These experiences prevent you from any kind of deep relationship. While archaeologists study long-vanished cultures, Michal struggles to find herself, and mainly to find meaning in her existence.
A fundamental change is going to take place in his life. Barbara, wife of an English archeology professor, has war experiences similar to those of the protagonist. The similar past is an inevitable cause of rapprochement, but at the same time it is an insurmountable obstacle for a happy development of the situation. But, perhaps the approach of these two shipwrecked of life, will provide them with a release of emotional tension, as well as rehearse living again.
