Miriam Martínez wants to emigrate from Cuba to the United States with her family. the daughter of a man who played a crucial part in the victory of the revolution, neither she nor her father Ricardo find the decision easy. Almost 40 years ago Ricardo quit his job as a journalist and left for Sierra Maestra to join Fidel Castro's rebels. He founded Radio Reberlde, whose broadcast became the most efficient means of spreading their revolutionary ideas. But today everything has changed and his daugther Miriam listend to Radio martí, an anti-Castro station broadcasting out of the United States. The bond between Miriam and Ricardo is strong, and there will be no turning back on their separation, but Miriam is unwavering, even though the "free world" has little in common with the ideals of her youth.
