SIN QUERER / Time of the Flamingos

It's summertime in the remote village of San Lorenzo, Argentina. A young engineer from the city arrives at the same time as the migratingflamingos to what seems like the end of the world. His mission is to prepare the overland transport of a pleasure steamer for taking people out on the nearby lagoon. This novelty awakens dreams desires and hopes in the inhabitants of San Lorenzo. Progress and prosperity are just within reach; but the engineer's presence upsets the ridged sense of orderin the village. The moment he takes an interest in the whereabouts of an old Indian who has gone missing, Mario realises that the friendliness with which he was welcomed has been replaced by suspicion.
