Repair contractor Lucky Mann is used to having the odd ex-marital affair with lonely housewives while their husbands are out. This time the woman in question is Marianne, the frustrated wife of self-possessed and polished businessman Jeffrey Byron. But Lucky's marriage to Phyllis, a former B-movie actress, is half-way onto the rocks anyway. Jeffrey and Phyllis are guided by the hand of fate when they separately tail their respective partners to their hotel rendevous and end up bumping into each other instead. Things will never be the same after the different encounters.
