The big city is packed with tramps, dossers and other down-and-outs. A hobo in one of the oldest parts of Istanbul, Mahsun survives with the help of local fishermen. He steals a car, getting himself into trouble with the police every time another car is stolen. His meeting with a heroin-shooting prostitute only highlights their loneliness. One day, unbearable hunger pushes Mahsun to steal a peacock fron the palace grardens, getting himself into a fine fix in the process.
