Buena Vista Social Club
Special Screenings - Special Screenings

When Ry Cooder travelled to Cuba in early 1998 to record an album with Ibrahim Ferrer and all of the musicians, known in Cuba as the Super-Grandads, who had played on Buena Vista Social Club -a worldwide success that was awarded the Grammy- Wenders accompanied him with a small film crew, observed the musicians in the studio and traced their lives in Havana. Filming was continued in Amsterdam where the Buena Vista Social Club gave two concerts before ending in New York with their triumphant success at the legendary Carnegie Hall.
