When 9-year-old Stanley discovers the clothes of his dead father, Hy, on the railroad tracks, his curiosity leads him to an old rowboar where Hy shares with him the mysteries of the afterlife. Taking Hy is a haunting and lyrical elegy that explores a young Jewish boy's struggle to cope with the loss of his father. 

BIOGRAPHY

MICHAEL SPITZ

A graduate form New York University Drama School in 1990, for the past six years Spitz has been living in Chicago where he has been pursuing a career as an actor and wirter of screenplays, having studied film production at the Chicago Filmmakers independent film school. Taking Hy is based on the screenplay for a feature film of the same title and is his second short, after Toe to Toe
