Synopsis
Based on the book of the same name by José Donoso, this Chilean film focuses on the figure of Don Andrés, the sole heir of a wealthy family. At 58 years of age Don Andrés realizes that he has wasted his life when he meets a young 17-year-old peasant girl who arouses all kinds of secret desires in him. The decadence of the rich family will be matched by Don Andrés's psychological decadence.
