Synopsis
Synopsis
Aviator Cliff Brandon runs supplies to and frombetween India and China. One day, when an old Chineseman is trying to sell his daughter to any American soldier who'll have her, Brandon falls drunkenly out of a bar and shoves a handful of dollars at the old man, unaware that he has just purchased Shu-Jen (?Beautiful Gem?). Although his first reaction is to take the girl back, a missionary warns him that doing so would only make her family even poorer. Shu-Jen transforms the soldier's hovel into a flower-filled home and the couple eventually get married, only to be separated by the war.
