Synopsis
Two rival gangs of high school students in Budapest play at war for the possession of a playground. They are clever schoolboys who aspire to emulate the grownups by imitating their discipline, words and precepts. Under the command of ?captain? Boka, the boys of Pál Street fight against the ?Red shirts? led by Feri Áts. All are ?officers? in Boka's regiment; the only ?private? is Nemecsek, a fragile boy willing to perform any exploit for a rise in position.
