They Had to See Paris / THEY HAD TO SEE PARIS

Frank Borzage
     96 m.
Synopsis
Gentle-natured Oklahoma mechanic Pike Peter's discovery of oil on his land sets the dollar signs spinning in his wife's eyes and gets her thinking that the family should make a cultural trip to Paris, an idea to which Pike somewhat reluctantly acquieses. Desperate for noble titles, Mrs. Peters pushes her daughter Opal into the arms of a dowry-hunting marquis. Claudine, a singer in a Pigalle nightclub, helps Pike to convince his wife that it would be a good idea to return home as soon as possible.
