Synopsis
Three comrades in arms, Erich, Otto and Gottfried try to get by fixing cars in post-First World War Germany. Erich is in love with the young tuberculosis-suffering Pat but is too shy to tell her. Otto, who knows his friend's secret, encourages the couple to get married. Political violence is rife in the streets and Gottfried is hit by a sniper. Erich and Otto set out in search of the murderer to avenge their friend's death while Pat's health continues to deteriorate.
