Silencio roto / BROKEN SILENCE
Made in Spanish

In the winter of 1944, Lucía, recently turned 21, arrives at a small mountain village where she meets Manuel, a young blacksmith who collaborates with the guerrilla fighters known as the ?Maquis?, whom, refusing to accept the Fascist victory, have taken refuge in the mountains. Lucía is attracted by Manuel's smile and by the bravery of these men who continue to defend their beliefs, despite the risk to their lives. When Manuel goes into hiding with the Maquis, Lucía discovers just how inhospitable the mountains really are and that the empty streets of the town hold nothing but silence, horror and fear. But her passion for Manuel keeps her spirits up, as she waits for better days.
