Synopsis
Strauss's popular operetta updated to a post-war Vienna, misruled by the four occupying powers - USA, URSS, France and Britain - whose pleasure-seeking representatives are easy prey for Dr. Falke, ?the Bat?. Using the still-new Cinemascope process, Vienna was designed by Heckroth as a chocolate-box confection amid the drabness of post-war Europe.
