A young woman disguised as a man and married to another woman works as a garage mechanic in a small southern Sri Lankan town. Discovering her true gender after an accident at work, the doctor who examines her decides not to reveal her secret, preferring to use the knowledge as a guarantee of securing sexual favours. Meanwhile, a colleague with gay inclinations shadows her in the hope of striking up a relationship. Resisting the pressure exerted upon her by the doctor and her work colleague, the young woman tries to reject them both, until the doctor's sudden decision to reveal her secret sends her fleeing from her workplace. She is from then on obliged to brave the jests and insults of the whole community as things eventually come to a head in a tragic outcome. This unprecedented bittersweet comedy is a world premiere.Director
