La vida mancha / Life Marks
Made in Spain

Fito hasn't seen his older brother Pedro for years; since childhood. Now he's married to Juana and has a son, Jon. And a lorry. And red numbers at the bank. And a bad habit that stops him from enjoying what he's got: Fito gambles everything away. One day, Pedro returns. To spend a few days. Alone. And this visit, apparently short and banal, will change their lives, leaving them with an irreparable mark on their hearts.
Bilbao, 1962. Has directed Tu novia está loca (Your Girlfriend Is Crazy, 1987), Todo por la pasta (Anything for Bread, 1991), Cómo ser infeliz y disfrutarlo (How to Be Miserable and Enjoy It, 1994), Cuernos de mujer (Infidelity, 1995), Cachito (1996) and La caja 507 (Box 507, 2001, winner of two Goyas, an Ondas and a Sant Jordi), plus the episode El hermano pequeño for the series Pepe Carvalho. He wrote the screenplays for La novena puerta (The Ninth Gate), La belleza del diablo (The Beauty of the Devil) and Las aventuras del capitán Alatriste. He has taught screenwriting and actor directing at the Sarobe and Juan Antxieta centres in the Basque Country.
