The Last Frontier
Anthony Mann

Jed Cooper is part of a trio of trappers who lose a year's worth of skins to marauding Indians. The three arrive at a cavalry outpost and take jobs as scouts. But those living at the fort fear an Indian attack and fear the new commander, Colonel Marston, who has been posted out west for having lost 1,500 men during a Civil War battle. Jed falls in love with Marston's wife, and Marston orders the entire fort's complement, totally unprepared for combat and outnumbered, to march out against the experienced Indian warriors.
