Frío sol de invierno

25-year-old Adrián has the feeling that his life is going definitively down the drain on being told on the morning he leaves the mental health centre in which he spends long stretches of time that his father has decided to move house and live far away from him. At the other end of the city, Raquel scrapes a living as a prostitute while her teenage son Gonzalo seeks for a break in a life from which he needs to get away. The night that Gonzalo and Adrián?s paths cross will mark the start of something that none of the three could ever have imagined.
Born in San Sebastian, he started writing and directing a number of shorts in video format. His first work for the big screen, El ángel de mármol, won first prize at the San Roque International Short Film Week. In 2002, he produced, wrote and directed Jardines deshabitados, a short which has been screened at over fifty festivals and has garnered thirteen awards since its release as part of the Official Selection at Gijón International Film Festival. Cold Winter Sun is his first feature. He has also written the screenplays for the animated feature Anjé, la leyenda del Pirineo and Olentzero II, and is currently writing the screenplay for his second movie, Algún día será hoy.
