Brian Jones, guitarist and founder member of the Rolling Stones, drowned in his swimming pool at home in 1969. Was it just an accident? Stephen Woolley, who regularly produces Neil Jordan's films, directs his first feature film and reconstructs the possible causes of Jones's death in those days of sex, drugs, rock & roll and intrigues.
BIOGRAPHY
Although Stoned is his directorial debut, Stephen Woolley has been a producer for over 20 years, notably having a long-term partnership with Neil Jordan, with whom he has been collaborating since 1983. He had previously owned his own cinema, worked as a film critic and produced a TV series for Channel 4. In 1982, he launched Palace Video with Nik Powell and, ten years later, the Producer?s Guild of America named him Producer of the Year for The Crying Game. In 2002, he founded Number 9 Films in partnership with Elizabeth Karlsen.
