Jaime Chávarri adds a biography of Camarón de la Isla to the long, varied, list of films he's made. He was not just one of the most powerful voices among modern flamenco singers but also a genuine social leader, whose style and manners were adopted by a broad sector of society. In this exceptional film Oscar Jaenada manages to really get inside Camarón's skin, whose career was cut short far too soon. As you might expect, the soundtrack is absolutely perfect.
