Synopsis
Two Tokyo detectives, Yuji Shimooka and Takao Yuki, are hot on the trail of the suspected murderer, Kyuichi Ishii. When the trail goes cold in Tokyo, they try their luck at his ex-lover Sadako Yokokawa's house in a small town on Kyushu Island. There they see how hopeless and gruelling Sadako's life is: her children show her no respect and her husband is so tightfisted that she has to sew for the neighbours.
