Synopsis
May, 1953. Korea War veteran Sgt Thorne Ryan is now a tough recruits instructor at Fort Bliss in El Paso (Texas), sharing his position with the more understanding Sgt Laverne Holt. Ryan has to prepare his men for the harsh conditions of battle in a short period of time and tensions arise between the two instructors over Ryan's callous treatment of the men. The soldiers complete their basic training and a fresh batch of recruits arrives.
