Synopsis
Richard Dadier lands a job as a teacher at a tough high school with discipline problems where the pupils are mostly lower-class juvenile delinquents. Dadier tries exerting his authority, only to earn a brutal beating for his efforts from one of the pupils, a thug called Artie West. Gregory Miller, a bright black youth, tells Dadier of his plans to drop out of school at the end of term because black people have limited options, but the teacher tries to convince him otherwise.
